The Madam JoJo's EP is here! Loosh worked our asses off all last year, gigging for anyone who would listen at any place that would pay us, to pay for this project ourselves and record the songs the way we wanted them recorded. We are deeply indebted to the incredibly talented individuals who helped us make this happen.
Evan Olson, www.evanolson.com , produced the first cut "Quiet Simple Things." Evan is well known as the frontman for two highly regarded bands in the 90's, BusStop and Majosha, his work with Ben Folds and innumerable TV and Movie soundtracks including DAWSON'S CREEK, SMALLVILLE, FELICITY, SEX AND THE CITY, ALIAS, ED, Scooby Doo, My Boss' Daughter and more. Evan also cared enough to introduce us to Steve Graham and Jeff Carroll.
Steve Graham, www.here2hearstudio.com , engineered the record. Steve is the guy every musical artist, songwriter, band wants at the board and his studio is the playground we all dream about. He has the best collection of instruments, amps, effects etc. you can imagine. A real 5 foot tall Leslie etc, instead of some plug in. He is the real deal and a hell of a nice guy. Mucho love to Steve.
Brent Henrich, www.brenthenrich.com , mixed the record and played keys. Brent started his recording career working with Pete Stewert. Brent was involved with many tasks including Production Assistance and Engineering. Brent worked on two primary projects while working with Pete: Sanctus Real (Sparrow Records/EMI) and Hero-The Rock Opera (Meaux Records/EMI). Brent was the primary engineer for both projects while Pete was in charge of Production. Currently Brent operates his own Project Studio and Production Company, WestEnd Productions, as a Dove Award winning Producer/Engineer/Mixer specializing in Rock and Pop. Brent is a great guy with a huge heart and an incredible soul for music.
Jeff Carroll, www.bluefieldmastering.com , mastered the record. Jeff began his professional music career at AMI (www.ami-media.com) where he learned under some of the most well known and venerable ears in the industry. Jeff oversaw the digital restoration of The Southern Folklife Collection, at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. There he worked with many older and obsolete audio formats, many containing some of the most rare and important recordings in the history of American music. Jeff opened Bluefield Mastering in 2001, and has mastered for some of the top artists, producers and engineers in music today. Jeff is a member of AES and NARAS and was featured in Mix Magazine in September of 2005. After hearing our original takes of "Quiet Simple Things," Jeff introduced us to Brent Henrich who mixed the CD for us and to AMI who created a beautiful CD.
We also had the pleasure of working with Dan Fournier, who played guitar and is the T-Bone of my existance. John and Melody Hogan, John kicked the skins and Melody took great pictures and did an excellent job on the cover art.
Please feel free to share your thoughts...
All the best,
David...The Loosh Guy...
