About Me

The Southern-fried sound of Requiem first emerged in 1998, fusing an unlikely mixture of influence and sound. The quartet, pairing their own personal styles with a traditional element of dirt and sludge common in past local music, have a sound today that you can only hear to believe. With the help of mind-blowing, often controversial, live performances, Requiem developed a following in the Hattiesburg, MS area, playing venues such as Magnum's and Tal's, as well as Zeppelin's in Metairie, LA. Two rough demos were cut in these early days, extending the scope of Requiem's own influence, but were never promoted. After three years together, the band felt themselves going in different directions, both physically and mentally, and disbanded in 2001. On the auspicious occasion of June 6, 2006, Requiem officially returned, with a new resolve and a matured sound, while keeping the side-splitting, mind-fucking aggression that originally drew its fans. Founding members Tave Hebert, Ace Elliot, and Joe Seal, along with new guitarist Matt Reid, are gearing up and getting ready to tear ass across the Southern States!!!!!!!
