Mortal Intention – ein enorm symbolträchtiger Gruppenname, welcher sinnbildlich für die entseelte Leidenschaftslosigkeit der modernen Wohlstandsgesellschaft steht. Im Jahr 1996 voller Tatendrang durch die Gründungsväter Christian, Tony und Tobias ins harte Dasein gerufen, feilten die Beteiligten nachfolgend an ihrer ganz speziellen abwechslungsreichen und atmosphärischen Black Metal-Stilistik, welche sich damals wie heute auch todesmetallischer Elemente bedient. Knapp ein Jahr später, nach ersten diversen obligatorischen Besetzungswechseln und dem offiziellen Bühnen-Debüt, erfolgte die allererste Veröffentlichung eines auf 200 Exemplare begrenzten und rasch vergriffenen Demonstrationstonträgers mit dem Titel „Der Fall Jesu“. In Sachen spieltechnisches Können, Stückzahl und Nachfrage der Hörer übertraf die nachfolgende Demo-Kassette „Gottes Hure“ den Vorgänger. Der dritten Darbietung 1999 namens „Wintermond-Promo“ warfen Mortal Intention im Jahr 2000 das brachiale und sehr extreme Debütalbum „Beflecket Fleisch“ in 500er Stückzahl in Eigenregie hinterher. Das individuell gehaltene Schaffen der gehässigen Horde erfuhr aufgrund großer Ideenvielfalt einigen Anklang in der größer werdenden Szene. Das zweite Studioalbum „Sic Luceat Lux“ erschien als CD und LP – eine aufgrund des gebotenen Inhalts stark in zwei Seiten polarisierende Wirkung sollte dabei im Untergrund des Metiers nicht ausbleiben. Der Band war dies nur recht, sie wollte und will nämlich absolut kein Mittelmaß sein. Das Jahr 2003 sah diesen ungestümen Trupp auch erstmals außerhalb deutscher Bühnen um sich wüten. Nach einer „Promo 2004“ attackierten diese Unnachgiebigen zwei Jahre später unschuldige Ohrenpaare mit ihrem bis dato besten und reifsten Album: „Latent Letal“ – erneut in versierter Eigenregie auf die Beine gestellt. Eine massive Weiterentwicklung zeigte sich auf. Im Jahr 2007 angekommen, zeigen sich wiederum Mortal Intention mittlerweile von ihrer souveränsten und kreativ ergiebigsten Schaffensseite. Das musikalische Grundgerüst aus Black- und Death Metal, gepaart mit qualitätsmelodischen Ansatzpunkten aus dem Heavy Metal, wurde abermalig neu definiert – heraus kam eine andere Symbiose eines Mortal Intention-typischen Klangbildes: „Abglanz“, der neue Mortal Intention-Donnerdiskus! Mit diesem wahrlich exzellent gemachten Album in der Ledertasche konnte man nun auch einen zuverlässigen Partner in Black Blood Records / Einheit Produktionen finden. Zwei kompetente Firmen, welche zusammen mit der Band in Zukunft den neu eingeschlagenen Weg würdig tapfer beschreiten werden.
