Jody S Lyne

Jody Lyne is first generation-born in Halifax Nova Scotia of Antiguan descent. He was educated in Bedford NS and later studied at Dalhousie University and received his bachelor of arts with a major in music. Mr. Lynes instruments of choice are trumpet and piano while other instruments are various percussion and voice. During and before his time of study, Jody has been playing professionally for the past eight years with various groups and artists in a variety of genres. In his spare time, he composes for a number of ensembles, for film and for bands throughout Halifax. Recording and producing are another of Mr. Lynes extra-curricular activities along with one on one instructing through the Canadian Conservatory of Performing Arts. Using his knowledge in electro-acoustics, Jody is experienced in recording small groups as well as soloists, and had done so on many of his and other composers compositions. Furthermore, he is now finishing his second degree as bachelor of music in composition, which will allow him to pursue his Masters. This is a dream that has motivated this composer/musician since the age of five years old. His work ethic and perseverance will make it reality.
