About Me

David Christensen is a musician, producer, composer and arranger from Halifax. He started playing saxophone at age 10 and after going through the Halifax City Schools Music Department, attended Dalhousie University where he received a Bachelor of Music Performance in Saxophone Degree in 2001. Along the way, David began performing on the clarinet, flute, piano and other instruments. For over ten years David has been an active member of the Halifax music scene performing with groups such as The Johnny Favourite Swing Orchestra, The Heavy Blinkers, Jenn Grant, The Hylozoists, Hopeful Monster, Dave Carmichael, Gabe Minnikin, Upstream Orchestra, Nova Sinfonia, and the Nova Scotia Youth Orchestra.In addition to performing live, David has written many string, horn and orchestral arrangements for local artists such as Matt Mays, Joel Plaskett, Symphony Nova Scotia, The Johnny Favourite Swing Orchestra, Brent Randall, The Guthries, Gabe Minnikin, Dale Murray and The Heavy Blinkers. David is also a composer for theatre and film, most notably with Zuppa Circus Theatre of Halifax.
