About Me

Music coming next week.
Circa the Empire started as an idea. I remember Jon and I driving around listening to a Lightning Bolt album. We were on Dead Cowboy. "Man, dead cowboy would be a sick band name". That was about it. We just swaped band names back and forth for about a month before we even played together. The first time we played we sounded like some cheesey Nirvana cover band. One of the major problems was that we wanted to sound like our favorite bands, the problem was that the list of bands was just way too long. When I had come up with the current band name I was thirty feet up on a roof ripping shingles rolling the word Empire in my head. The Empire, Ancient Empire, it all sounded like a shit 80's metal band. At the time I had been listening to Circa Survive a lot so Circa came to mind, and that was it. Circa the Empire. We've got a long ways to go before we have a band bio so come along and join us in the ride!
