Hi, so glad you found me!!!Leon calls her parents old school, hard-hearted atheists. They were always convinced that she would become an Olympic gymnast. Fate, and Leon, had other plans. - Ive always wanted to sing. But because my parents didnt believe that music was something you do for a living, I had to lie and practically run away from home to be able to sing. The only option available to her were choirs, so she joined the school choir, a gospel choir, a folk choir and many others. - As long as I could sing, it didnt matter what kind of music it was. If I hadnt been in choirs, I never would have found my true voice. They helped me find my way in music.Leons mother is Mongolian, her father was an officer in the Russian military intelligence. The family lived in East Germany until Leon was 14 years old. After that, she moved to Moscow and later on, to Paris. Always looking for ways to express her creativity,after her graduation with a professional designer diploma Leon moved to Paris to pursue a career as a fashion designer. There, she was discovered by Elite, the biggest modeling agency in the world. - Modeling is fun, but it was not for me. I craved development and missed singing too much! After Paris, Leon moved to Stockholm to attend The Song Academy, and she liked the city enough to make it her base. Contrary to expectations of a model-turned-singer, Leon writes her own songs. Shes had to fight prejudice and misconceptions, but claims its been worth every minute. - I write most of my songs on the guitar. But its not been easy to make people believe in me. I really had to fight for the right to make music my way. When she met producer Patrik Frisk, however, many things changed. - He’s very open, and he really listened to my ideas, says Leon. Patrik has been a big source of inspiration....and I practically lived in his studio for a while.As an answer to the perennial question: music for the mind or for the body, Leon answers both. - Every single word is important. My songs have a strong message; a wake up call for love and kindness. The world is a chaotic, crazy place, so we need to make sure that positive messages are heard. This is too important to whisper Id rather scream at the top of my lungs if thats what it takes to get their attention. - But words can only say so much; the music and the melodies help me express my feelings and make it personal.Music is very personal to Leon, but shes convinced that her music will speak volumes to others. - I want my music to mean different things to the listener, depending on your mood. If you listen to the songs at night, when youre getting ready to go out, theyll make you want to dance. The next morning, theyll probably sound totally different, Leon says with a smile. But the words and the beat will never leave you indifferent. Thats my main goal.The music can be described as hard pop. Most of the songs on the album are guitar based, a blend of dark and dramatic instrumental arrangements with beautiful melancholic and nostalgic melodies. The beats are big and powerful, mostly mid- and up-tempo. This is music that will appeal to a wide audience.Even before releasing her first album, Leon has plenty of experience with performing live. Shes been performing in front of big crowds since she was a teenager, when she toured with choirs and sang in a band. She doubled as the manager for the band, booking shows and setting up meetings with executives. The band, however, went nowhere, and Leon continued on her own. - At first, a lot of people didnt take me seriously. But Im extremely determined and Im ready to do whatever it takes to bring my music forward. Ive learned to see who understand what I want to do, and to surround myself with people who arent intimidated by a strong woman.Thank you everyone who visited this site and took time to connect.
