I grew up in the wilds of northern Minnesota. I spent most of my days roaming through forests, prairies, and snowbanks, so I gained a deep appreciation for nature. Mother Nature taught me a lot about my own creativity, so as a child I was very creative. Even then I loved to sing, draw, and write.I am a vocalist, lyricist, and artist. Music and art are my lifelong passions, and I am working on my first cd. I also play piano and cedar flute.
Music is such a powerful creative force, and through this universal language my soul is able to express itself.
*Some additional things about me... I would love to one day visit Europe where the music scene is awesome. I paint in acrylics. I love the freedom of paint flowing on a canvas. (The pics in the song boxes are mine.). I also like to watch movies, read, and go hiking in the mountains. I have a degee in Ecology and Environmental Science, and am the garden designer for a very haunted historical home. I think there is a lot of wisdom in the Native American culture and it makes me sad that so much has been lost. I think the use of capitalism has gotten out of hand in this country. I believe in living simply for my income level, and like to ask myself before I buy something if it is worth the extra hours I will have to work to buy it. (more work=less time for family, art, and music).

-Melanie* Who I'd like to meet: I have been lucky enough to meet most of my major musical influences, but I always enjoy meeting new people. Two people I would liked to have met are Frank Fools' Crow and Tahca Ushte. This world could use more wisdom like those two had.
