'An Inconvenient Truth' and 'SOS Planet'. Two documentaries that take a serious look at the state of our world. The latter is great for children!
'Shut Up and Sing' (documentary on the Dixie Chicks) and The US Vs. John Lennon. Two amazing documentaries about the power of expressing your voice in times of political extremism..times like today. I recommend these especially.
Primarily non-fiction related to philosophy, theology, arts, sciences. I am a huge fan of works by Ken Wilber. Integral Psychology is one I'm working on right now (wow....and I'm only a third through) and A Brief History of Everything is one I read last year on the road. Absolutely life changing. As a dear friend says, "it will alter your DNA!" :D
