Quentin S Crisp

About Me

Quentin S. Crisp was born in 1972 in North Devon. His parents, at the time ignorant of the other Quentin Crisp (nee Dennis Pratt) unwittingly gave their child the naked civil servant’s assumed name. It would, therefore, be true to say that Quentin S. Crisp is the real Quentin Crisp.

He showed an interest in storytelling from a young age, dictating stories to his father before he could actually write. Since leaving school he has worked for Wolf and Water Theatre Company , played bass and written lyrics for a band called The Dead Bell , studied Japanese language and literature at university in England and Japan and taught English in Taiwan.

His first collection of stories, The Nightmare Exhibition , came out in 2001. The second, Morbid Tales , came out in 2004. A third, Rule Dementia! , in which the author champions a new mode of literature called ‘demented fiction’, was released in 2005. A novella called Shrike is forthcoming from PS Publishing . Read an interview here . Quentin S. Crisp is also available for weddings and children’s parties, and funerals.
