Kate Bush over some vintage footage...makes me all teary eyed; listen up for a bit of Rolf at the beginning :))) LIPSTICK ON YOUR COLLAR 1993 - Dennis Potter RIP THE COMPANY OF WOLVES - I used to love this film when I was a kid. It's proper 80's kitsch and would probably be considered a bit sinister these days but I've put it up here anyway because it's such a magical film!!! THE RED SHOES - The scene where Karen accepts the red shoes from the evil shoemaker

Television:

Telly isn't what it used to be, is it? The 80's was the golden age for British telly, but some wonderful weirdness survived into the 90's like Dennis Potter and Twin Peaks. Satire is rubbish now, what happened to Brass Eye and The Day Today etc? However, what we have now instead is You've Been Framed, which gets five stars from me, *****. I used to like...Top of the Pops (RIP), Peep Show, Brookside (RIP), Columbo, Shoestring and Tales of the Unexpected. I still love Sunday TV...Country File, Antiques Roadshow, X Factor repeat. I find Heaven and Earth with Gloria Hunerford strangely soothing. I love Celebrity Big Brother but this year’s has been excruciating, except for Ken Russell...It's Me or the Dog,Wife Swap, Animal Hospital (RIP).Used to watch Takeshi's Castle when I had Sky, that was a larf. Wish I had watched more Nighty Night. Will never forget The Hit Man and Her.
