One of Bath"s original DJ pioneers, Pete B started out DJing at the age of fourteen.Through his dj set plays an eclectic variety of styles which incorperate Hip Hop, R&B,Soul,Funk,Reggae,Dancehall,Breaks and Soulful House. He started out DJing in public at the early Hip Hop jams held at the CENTRAL CLUB and the RIVERSIDE in Bath in the mid 80"s,heavily inspired by US scratch legends ,B-Boy culture and the soundsystem ethics of the legendary WILD BUNCH CREW. Since then he"s gone on to have a heavyweight career holding it down on the ones and twos. Pete has played countless gigs,parties & venues over the years along the way warming up for:DJ JAZZY JEFF(CREATION BRISTOL& PO NA NA BATH)DJ CRAZE NU SKOOL BRISTOL,DJ DOPEY,TY,SKINNYMAN AND DJ FLIP,RODNEY P MR THING AND YUNGUN,HARRY LOVE,MYSTRO,DJ FIRST RATE,DJ BIZNIZZ,DJ MK,DJ QUEST AND SIRPLUS,MILLION DAN,KAMANCHI SLY,SWAY AND PYRELLI GABRIELLE. Club residencies include THE FEZ in Bath formaly THE HUB AND THE HUSH every saturday night,actually started out doing every other saturday sharing it with GERARD OF DRIVE BY,then it was just Pete the night was called FUNK the musical menue being hip hop,old skool jams housemusic,dancehall,held that down for EIGHT YEARS.Putney Fez was another which was fornightlyon fridaysfor FOUR YEARS alongside MC BARRY B(HEADBOUND FRONTMAN) playing all styles.STONEGRUVE SOCIAL Bath"s number one hip hop jam took place fortnightly on wednesdays at MOLES in Bath,for the past three years.It was named HIP HOP CONNECTIONS CLUB OF THE MONTH and was regulary featured in VENUE magazine BIG GIG,Stonegruve also held baths first DMC CHAMPIONSHIPS IN 2005 other residents were BOBAFATT and HONEYTRAP and Go3. Pete has also performed as a scratch dj for the artist called MERZ.The album was signed to sony records and Pete featured on two of the tracks,whilst with the band pete performed on tv shows such as JO WHILEY ON CHANNEL4,JOOLS HOLLANDS LATER,VIDEOTECH and CANAL+ IN France.Live radio shows included RADIO LONDON,XFM,STEVE LAMACQ RADIO 1.There were also numerous live shows including touring alongside bands LAMB& SUEDE,as well as festivals such as GLASTONBURY,LEEDS,READING,HOMELANDS,T IN THE PARK,V FESTIVAL and the INROCKKUPTIBLES in Paris playing alongside MOBY,THE FLAMING LIPS and MUSE.MERZ also performed at the ROXY in NYC alongside ROOTS MANUVA,THE HERBALISER& CARL CRAIG. BIG DOG was another band that pete has performed with scratching on tracks from their album SOLID NOURISHMENT.Former BLACK GRAPE member KERMIT was also a band member,performances at uk festivals and tours took place as well. Pete also provided scratching on PAUL OAKENFOLDS STARRY EYED SURPRISE as well as the track GET UM UP from the BUNKKA album the track featured ICE CUBE,the track featured on the BLADE 2 soundtrack.
