Halcyon Days

Serge Gainsbourg Meets 80s Manchester

About Me

Halcyon Days met in London what seems like an eternity ago and are continuing to produce music that will fascinate and inspire you. Their sound has been likened to The Cocteau Twins and Charlotte Gainsbourg. They have blended New Wave sensibilities with ambient sounds to create a unique style of indie dream pop.

This EP was recorded during five days at a studio in rural Oxfordshire and engineered by Chris Hufford (producer of Slowdive and Radiohead). Prior to recording, the tracks were honed on the road during a tour which culminated in a live show with Tori Amos.

It was feared that this, the first release on their own Real Gulf label, might never see the light of day as the band members pursued numerous other projects including bringing up 5 children and founding 2 successful businesses!

So, at last, it's time to chill out and sing along to the sound of a Jasmine Sunset.

Ennio Morricone

Apollo, Hammersmith Classic film soundtracks with the Roma Sinfonietta Orchestra, a very impressive Soprano (Susanna Rigacci) and an unexpected introduction by Jonathan Ross.
