About Me


The Flocking Bustards was formed in late 2006 by Mark and his son Ell. The aim being to play covers and a few original songs at venues in SW Cornwall, nothing too hectic but just for the fun of it all!
Update June 2008….After spending the last year and a half gigging our asses off the band has split….a warning to all out there. Stay in control of what you do and try not to let outside forces dictate the rules and bullshit you into deviating from your aims and aspirations. Believe in what you do and stand firm. True friends will always stick around. Those that use and hang on will melt away into insignificance. Forget them and look to a brighter future but above all stay true to yourself and the people that are close to you.
We have a new line up now. It’s wide open as to what we’re going to do with regards the music we perform at the moment but we’ll get there and one thing is for sure, we won’t compromise… ever.The Flocking Bustards is all about putting on a show, not just a pub band but an experience in sound and light and a dedication born from years of experience. It’s all about quality and not quantity….what’s important is we enjoy what we do and like to raise a little hell along the way!
We're back to the original concept and spirit of the band which is to have fun and enjoy ourselves without selfish financial interests and egos ruining it all.
Many folks comment on the name;
The best guy I’ve ever met in my life suggested this a few years ago as a name for my next band. He is, very sadly, departed now and very much missed.
So here we are, “The Flocking Bustards”, In memory of Les Williams, he was a very funny guy and a huge inspiration, not in music………but in life.
