My name is Dominic Pillai, I'm 20 years old and I'm currently studying Film, radio and television at Canterbury Christ Church University. My main passion in life is filmmaking, I love all aspects of it but I mostly aspire to be a good director. I make short films and am currently trying to get my stuff shown around at different film festivals.Your results:

Music:

Jazz, soul, funk, hip hop, reggae, blues etc; music from the SOUL, it don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing!Miles Davis, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Tom Waits, Gil Scott Heron to name a few. I think the 20s and 30s was the goldern age of songwriting, when people like the Gershwins and Cole Porter were around. Where did the art of lyric writing go? I also DJ under the name SOULBROTHER

Movies:

Some of my favourite directors are Alfred Hitchcock, Howard Hawks, Akira Kurosawa, Takeshi Kitano, and Martin Scorsese. I love classical hollywood movies with stars like Cary Grant, Katherine Hepburn, and Jimmy Stewart, noir movies, and contempory cinema from Europe and Asia. My favourite movie of all time is Vertigo

Television:

I don't like much television, but I like classic cult tv series like Doctor Who, The Twilight Zone, and The Man fron UNCLE.

Books:

Favourite authors are Raymond Chandler, James M.Cain, P.G Wodehouse, and Edgar Allen Poe. I love the first world war poetry by Siegfied Sasson and Wilfred Owen, and have a great interest in early fairytales (Hans Anderson, Brothers Grimm)and Arthurian legend. I dig the Tao Te Ching too!

Heroes:

Tom Waits, Gil Scott Heron, Takeshi Kitano, Fred Astaire, Rosa Parks and the Buddha
