Two Men and a Tree

About Me

What do you call it? Pirate-folk? Zombie-jazz? Ramschackle revelry? Tragic anti-folk? How about avant-skiffle? Yes, yes that's good. It'll do for the moment. Two Men and a Tree- they play avant-skiffle they do. Great.
Two Men and a Tree were formed in Canterbury during 2004 by sixth form friends Tom Eagle and Jack Joslin (Two Men) and Dan Gilbert (the Tree). With gap years and then university preventing people from being in the same room, Tardy joined the band during 2005. They currently write and play small gigs around the Canterbury area whenever they are all around at the same time. they have recently even been given headlining gigs of their own! Who'd have ever of thought that would happen?
Expect a full frontal attack on some kind of a scene any time soon...
Two Men and a Tree take an original approach to, blues, folk, sea shanties and , yes, even, *gulp* country, through their low-fi, acousitic and banjo lead sound. Willfully low-fi, they bring a ramshackle charm to worlds filled with old salty sea dogs, organ grinders, murders, evangelical preachers, coccaine fiends and booze soaked jilted lovers.
Come an join us. It's great in here.
*These recordings sound OK on good speakers- their only rough versions. At some point we will get around to making some decent recordings. I promise.*

Sounds Like: Two Men and a Tree-
they play avant-skiffle
they're like warm whiskey on a cold night...
They're like getting off a train in a strange town at midnight...
They're like the fog down at the old docks...
They're like a list of bad similes...
They're like cooking baked beans in the tin over a fire...
They're like the drifter who was run out of town...
They're like lying in the gutter staring at the stars...
"Frankly terrifying. Rootsy, gutsy and evocative."- Luke Smith and the Feelings

I would just like to make it known that there is nothing wrong with my spelling. My spelling is good. It's just my typing that is bad and not very accurate. That is all.
