About Me

hello, i am tom. i am 24 years of age and i live on the border between leamington spa and warwick in the uk. i am totally in the second year of a phd in film studies. it's about richard linklater and, if they let me, i want to call it 'reasons to be cheerful'.
apart from film, my main interests are stand-up comedy, mixed martial arts, music, comic books and writing. i do stand-up comedy and it is great fun. i'm enthusiastic about mixed martial arts and pro-wrestling - i have recently begun learning brazilian jiu jitsu at gracie barra in birmingham, and it is the best thing i've done for ages. i really like records and yellowed novels from charity shops. i also play poker but i'm not nearly as good as i make out i am.
i spent longer on my myspace profile than anyone should admit to. i have recently started a new blog where i plan to write about stuff - it is called 'letter from an unknown suplex' and is at http://blogs.warwick.ac.uk/thughes
