About Me

"Wanting people to listen, you can't just tap them on the shoulder anymore. You have to hit them with a sledgehammer, and then you'll notice you've got their strict attention." (John Doe: Se7en)
Right elbow against a wall and left hand on his 3rd Venti of the morning, the caffeine jacked guitarist listens as Amy finishes putting to words what they both already know. "This music has to grab me by the stomach and pull me in. I want people to feel the same things I do when they hear it. I want people to feel."
And that was that.
The vision, the goal and the means in one statement. Dealing Amy has been built on that ideal since that caffeine filled morning. It is a project that wears its heart on a tastefully decorative sleeve and makes no apologies for what we say, or how we say it.
The music is both dark and intelligent and strives to appeal to the listener in both a cranial and carnal fashion. The melodies contain a pop-sensibility while in the context of less common chord structures and musical forms. This is done in an attempt to offer the listener something non-derivative yet still accessible.
Music and lyrics are intertwined and inseparable in an effort to revisit the ideas of word painting so strongly associated with classical music (an art which has become lost as of late). The words themselves attempt to convey a strong message that is clear on the first listen, but still revealing and engaging after several more.
Dealing Amy is made up of Amy C on smooth, dulcet vocals, Ryan S on guitar formed aggression. Marty G and Carlos A fill out the rhythm section delivering the thunder that makes this music breathe.
Dealing Amy is presently writing and recording new material and plans to start performing in January. Make sure to check back often as we will be posting many new tracks in the weeks to come.

Dealing Amy Covers NIN

I guess the best way to start this would be to state the obvious: I have been a huge NIN fan for a very long time. Trent Renzor as a producer is next level to say the least. Apart from this, I am fair...
