About Me

Derwent Hannon sang in his first band aged 11. It was at this point that he discovered rock'n'roll, and also grew his musical roots, covering the likes of Led Zeppelin and Jimmy Hendrix. After developing as a musician playing in bands, Derwent first began composing at the age of 14. Soon a catalogue of songs emerged, some of which were to feature on the self-produced album "Universe."Following the release of his first album he moved to London to study, and at the same time began playing the club scene, both as a solo artist and as a session musician. He received a Dip. H.E. from the Guitar Institute, became a qualified massage therapist, and gained a BSc (Hons) degree in Herbal Medicine. After graduating from university he went straight to being a professional musician, both teaching and performing. He toured in Europe and America, and during his time living in Paris he played regularly in Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show, and prestigious venues such as Casino de Paris and Don Camillo. He also recorded his second album "Whispers of Liberty," a raw and unplugged record.Derwent is currently working on a new album set to release in 2007.
