Hurjat Hipit was founded in 1994 by Mika Kupiainen(drs), Janne Pirinen(g) and Kari Pirttisalo(b).
Soon they noticed that second guitar would make the stuff tougher. So Pirttisalo switched to guitar and they got Jari Laakkonen to play the bass for them. This band played Hurjat Hipit’s first gig in April fools day 1995.
After a couple of gigs Laakkonen was out, and Ari Ärmänen joined the group. This band did some gigs in 1996. Soon they noticed that third guitar would make the stuff tougher. So Pete Korhonen joined Hipit. Pete had earlier played a gig for them as a drummer.
Even before this had Hurjat Hipit visited a real recording studio in October 1996. The second visit to studio was June 1997.
Soon they noticed that fourth, fifth and sixth guitar would make the stuff tougher. So in August 1997 Hurjat Hipit played their first gig with six (6) guitars. Marko Salimäki, Heikki Marttila and Jarno Sakki joined .
Soon they noticed that seventh and eighth guitar would make the stuff tougher. Jani Salomaa and Pasi Sorjonen joined in 1998.
Internet-album Hanaa! came out in may 1999. By this time more than 35 000 visitors had visited the Hurjat Hipit website and the band decided they deserved gold diskettes for that.
After the gold disk party Kai Relander joined as tambourine player. Hanna Asunta, Jouni Purola and Heikki Nyman joined Hurjat Hipit in 2000 to strenghten the rhythm section. New mp3 - album "Heinz-Harald" was out 25.7.2000.
Next mp3 - album "Live in the unplugged" followed swiftly. Double gold diskettes were given to Hurjat Hipit's fans in december 2000. New drummer Korkki Leppänen joined the band to strenghten the rhythm section.
Summer 2001 Kaitsu got lucky.
In 2002 Hurjat Hipit worked hard in the studio. Mp3 single "Systeemissä on vikaa / Luonnollisesti korkealla" was followed in february 2003 by mp3-ep "Rakkaudesta musiikkiin"
In august 2003 Hurjat Hipit were in the studio once again. The result this time was mp3-ep "Hurmosmela". No new band members this year.
February 2004 Marko Sallinen joined to strenghten the guitar wall. Two mp3-albums: "Jäniskevennys" and "Jättiläisnaisen hyökkäys" were out that year.
Matti Leskinen joined 2005 as a wild drummer. The stuff got tougher.
Their next mp3-album "Jytäkytät" was out summer 2006. Video "Joulunalusaika" was out spring 2007.
