(E) MAURY - new single „ONLINE“ and new album „OHWELLALRIGHT“
MAURY is a one-man show, writing, singing and producing his music in his own studio. The 2007 debut album THE BEST IS YET TO COME (EMI) including the hit singles I WANNA KNOW (XBOX 360 product launch song) and SOMEONE LIKE YOU kick-started MAURYs career. From zero to hero indeed: within months, he was on stage, opening for top acts such as PINK and DEEP PURPLE.
A few gigs later, SKODA, the car manufacturer, decided to use MAURYs song LEAD TO YOU, which he sang and recorded in English, French and Italian, for the new Skoda Fabia TV commercials.
MAURYs love for high-energy rock music is evident in his guitar-driven songs. The man can shred with the best of them – but that's only half of the story: electronic sounds and beats have always been a major influence as well. Which explains the success of RESPECT, the Official 2007 Street Parade Hymn (EMI), one of many house-based tracks that opened more doors for the Italian musician.
Work on his 2008 follow-up album OHWELLALRIGHT saw the creation of another milestone in his career. Amid fierce competition, MAURYs HEART OF GOLD was selected by SF, Switzerlands Nr 1 TV channel, to become Official Swiss 2008 Olympics Song (Phonag Records) and trailer for the Olympic Games in Beijing during the whole of August 2008.
Together with friends and favourite co-lyricists Jan Savenberg (best known for his work with Clouseau) and Hiten Bharadia (Phrased Differently, songwriter for Craig David and many more) MAURY jumps right back into the studio to finish 12 brand new rocking, grooving and pumping tracks.
The label Morris Songs Records decides to pre-launch ONLINE as the first single - a wild and witty song with a big and soulful voice talking 100% Internet. As a digital bonus package you will find 3 exclusive, previously unreleased versions of HEART OF GOLD including an orchestral version conducted by XAVIER NAIDOOs co-producer and keyboarder Florian Sitzmann.
OHWELLALRIGHT will be out in stores November 14.
(D) MAURY - neue Single „ONLINE“ und neues Album „OHWELLALRIGHT“
Die Olympischen Spiele sind vorbei, die Medaillen geholt und MAURY, Macher des diesjährigen Official Swiss Olympic Songs HEART OF GOLD freut sich über den Herbst und auf den Winter. Freude herrscht vor allem, weil MAURY gerade sein frisch aus dem Presswerk angekommenes zweites Album in Händen hält.
Gleich nach seiner Gitarren-Version der Schweizer Nationalhymne im Zürcher Letzigrund Stadion eilt der Sänger, Komponist und Produzent in sein eigenes, kleines Studio, um wieder Grosses zu vollbringen. Schliesslich gilt es die neusten Ideen, Hook-Lines und Gitarren-Riffs in fertige Songs auszuproduzieren.
Gemeinsam mit Co-Texter Jan Savenberg und Sound-Engineer Marten Thielges werden 12 heisse Tracks zu einem fetten und abwechslungsreichen Album gebündelt. OHWELLALRIGHT, so der Titel von MAURYs zweitem Meisterwerk rockt, poppt, groovt und pumpt was das Zeug hält.
Die auserwählte Vorab-Promo-Single ONLINE, ein spitzenmässiger Track mit frechem Text-Konzept, lanciert MAURYs gelungenen Follow-Up und garantiert absoluten Hörgenuss.
Dass MAURYs Herz nicht ausschliesslich für organische, sondern auch für elektronische Musik schlägt, stellt der Allrounder bei OHWELLALRIGHT ganz offen und bewusst zur Schau. „Ich nehme mir einfach diese künstlerische Freiheit. Schliesslich haben wir im Leben schon genügend Regeln zu beachten“, so der am 24. 12. geborene Steinbock.
OHWELLALRIGHT wird am 14. 11. in sämtlichen E-Stores (iTunes, exlibris.ch, Musicload.de, Napster.com etc.), wie auch physisch in allen CITY DISC Filialen erhältlich sein. Das digitale Album beinhaltet als Bonus-Paket 3 exklusive, nicht veröffentlichte Versionen von HEART OF GOLD. Darunter auch die von XAVIER NAIDOOs Pianist und Co-Producer Florian Sitzmann klassisch orchestrierte Fassung.

(F) MAURY - nouvelle Single „ONLINE“ et nouvel Album „OHWELLALRIGHT“
THE BEST IS YET TO COME, le premier album de MAURY, voit le jour en 2007, un an après l'entrée dans les charts du single I WANNA KNOW qui marqua le début de la carrière solo de l'artiste.
La même année, il présente ses chansons live en assurant la première partie de quelques grands noms du rock, notamment P!NK et DEEP PURPLE. Il prouve que l'on peut être rocker et créer de petits chefs-d'oeuvre électroniques en écrivant RESPECT, hymne officielle de la Street Parade pendant l'été de 2007.
Un peu plus tard, la marque automobile SKODA fait appel à lui: la chanson LEAD TO YOU / QUI CON TE / LA BELLE AU BOIS BRULANT, enregistrée en trois langues, est choisie pour le spot publicitaire qui lancera la nouvelle Skoda Fabia.
Au printemps 2008, le tube HEART OF GOLD est sélectionné par la télévision suisse SF pour devenir SWISS OLYMPIC SONG 2008. On l'entendra à chaque diffusion des Jeux Olympiques à Beijing.
Quelques mois plus tard, le chanteur-compositeur-guitariste retourne en studio pour enregistrer de nouveaux titres. Le résultat, co-écrit en partie avec Jan Savenberg, s'intitule OHWELLALRIGHT: une collection variée mais cohérente de 12 chansons, du rock sur un groove irresistible, un mélange étonnant mais réussi de guitares heavy et d'électro.
Ce Capricorne (24.12) amoureux du rock pur et dur adore aussi la musique électronique et ne s'en cache pas. Il s'explique: "C'est très simple. En tant qu'artiste, je revendique cette liberté. Après tout, dans la vie, il y a déjà assez de règles à suivre."
Outre le single promo ONLINE, regard drôle et impertinent sur le monde internet, l'album digitale contient en bonus trois versions exclusives et inédites de HEART OF GOLD, dont une version orchestrale arrangée par Florian Sitzmann, pianiste et coproducteur de XAVIER NAIDOO.

Nel 2007, un anno dopo l’uscita del singolo I WANNA KNOW che aveva regalato all’artista airplay presso le stazioni radio svizzere e un posto nei charts, vede la luce il primo album da solista di MAURY: THE BEST IS YET TO COME, presentato al pubblico durante i concerti d’apertura degli show di artisti del calibro di P!NK e DEEP PURPLE.
La stessa estate esce RESPECT, inno ufficiale della Street Parade, che dimostra che si può esser rockettaro eppure creare piccoli capolavori di musica elettronica.
Poco dopo segue LEAD TO YOU / QUI CON TE / LA BELLE AU BOIS BRULANT, un brano trilingue che la marca automobilista SKODA sceglie come soundtrack per lo spot televisivo della nuova SKODA Fabia.
Nella primavera di quest’anno HEART OF GOLD viene scelto dalla SF come SWISS OLYMPIC SONG 2008 e sarà diffuso durante ogni trasmissione televisiva dei giochi olimpici estivi di Pechino.
Solo poche settimane dopo il cantante-chitarrista-compositore si chiude nel suo studio per registrare un nuovo album i cui testi sono frutto di una collaborazione con Jan Savenberg. OHWELLALRIGHT è una raccolta di 12 pezzi diversi ma coerenti, che mixano chitarre heavy a groove irresistibili, rock a electro.
Il cuore di MAURY, capricorno nato il 24.12., non batte solo ed esclusivamente per il rock duro e puro, ma anche per la musica elettronica. E con OHWELLALRIGHT lo dimostra. “Questa licenza poetica me la prendo. Del resto nella vita abbiamo già troppe regole da seguire.”
