Nia Malika Dixon

Passion, Patience, Perseverance.

About Me

In the year of the Tiger, Nia was born in Baltimore, MD. She has been a writer since the day her mother first put a pencil in her hand.

Although writing has always been Nia's passion, her mother's emphasis on education led Nia to become an elementary school teacher. She taught young children for more than twelve years and raised her own two children along the way. However, her passion for storytelling could not be quenched.

Nia left her hometown in October 2005 to pursue her dream of telling stories through film. Temporary Loss of Power is her first foray into film making, yet it is the first in a long line of ground-breaking, thought-provoking, and entertaining films to come.

"If there is anything you want in this world, it is for you to strike out with confidence and faith in self and reach for it." ~Marcus Garvey
