About Me

You would be hard pressed to find a more devout advocate for the house movement than Rodney Marable. The Georgia-born classically-trained pianist and longtime Massachusetts resident got his start spinning records on WMBR (88.1 FM, Cambridge) in the late 1980s producing the now defunct shows Vibes and The Funkhouse, serving as an engineer on The Club Scene, Boston’s original house music radio show, as the station’s first non-rock Music Director, and sitting on the station’s management and program direction boards. He has held residencies along the way at Redline in Harvard Square with local legends K.C. Hallett and Kris Kono, Toast (Zest with Doug Nice and The Furbs), and The Druid (Saturday Social with Craig Kapilow and Alex Bushkoff).Rodney is a busy man. He is a staff DJ of the Boston House Music Coalition, a frequent contributer to DeepHousePage.com, a featured DJ of TheFreshPage.com, and the producer of "Soul Donkey Music" on house music Internet radio station FaceTheBass.com. He is spending this winter refining the Soul Donkey Music Podcast, putting the finishing touches on a new studio, enjoying life as a newlywed, and playing out around the Greater Boston area (please join the mailing list to hear all the details).

Screw Playlists

No one cares what you're playing as long as it's banging.
