Allen “DJ Speedy†Jackson started DJ’ing around 1984. He became interested in playing music by watching Jimmy Johnson “DJ Bassx†spinning records in his basement in the early 80’s. What made him begin spinning records was one day having a battle on the way home from Jr. High School on the bus with DJ Pookie from (Vauxhall). Speedy had a mixed tape done by DJ Bassx and Pookie had a tape made from the radio. Till this day they still don’t who won. After the battle, Speedy went to Pookie’s house where he had his own DJ equipment, and they became partners from there.After years of practice Speedy and Pookie became one of the most sought after DJ’s in the area, They have done functions in all the major colleges in the area and beyond, such as Rutgers, Upsala, Kean, Montclair St., Seton Hall and NYU.Speedy also had guest appearances at clubs like Zanzibar Newark NJ, Marlos Newark NJ, Sensations Newark NJ, Elevations Irvington NJ, Langstons Brooklyn NY. Speedy was also the house DJ for The Doll House go-go bar in Irvington NJ for 2 years.Currently Speedy is running 2 Internet radio shows Face The Bass & Got Bass Radio, and has a few tracks on Traxsource on 2 different labels (D# Sharp Records & Rapture Trax), Look out for his new stuff
