Music, basically. I have a shitload of vinyl LPs and listen to them too. I like to roller skate and go thrifting and play scrabble and have meat-free BBQ's (Ok, I eat fish...so kill me) and watch movies and read a lot and enjoy the carnal arts.......Oh, and make a little music too.

XTC, Costello, John Cale, Who, Kinks, Small Faces, Flaming Lips, Bee Gees, Can, Harrison/Lennon, Robyn Hitchcock, Badfinger, Bowie, Beach Boys, Harry Nilsson, Lee Hazlewood, Paul Williams, Syd Barrett...............music is key. ...to meet Film Buffs with a penchant for the odd, beautiful, daring and obscure. And I'd like to have dinner with the Marx Brothers; drinks before and afterwards with Nick and Nora. I'd like to smoke herb with Shel Silverstein in the great beyond and have a lost weekend with Julian Cope. Let's not forget Dr. Winston O'Boogie!!

FILMS I'VE SEEN LATELY: SYBIL: Man, this creeped me out (in ways I enjoyed) when I was 10. Having just seen it again after 31 years I realize how deeply the images had stayed with me. It's still pretty good. Ajejandro Jodorowsky's The Holy Mountain: A psychedelic trip into the rabbit hole of spiritual misguidance. Heavy on the symbolism - each scene strung together by a composite of allegorical theatre artfully wedded to stunning and thought provoking cinematography - this film does demand a commitment from its viewer. That said...They just don't offer enough Malformed Dwarfage in film these days, do they?
Misc: ZABRISKIE POINT**Zardoz**Santa Sangre**Wicker Man**Rings Trilogy**The Loved One (Most Rod Steiger films)**Phantom Of The Paradise**H&M**Monty Python & The Holy Grail**All Warren Oates (Cockfighter, Race With The Devil, Two Lane Blacktop, etc.)**Wings Of Desire (Ich weiß jetzt, was kein Engel weiß)**Visions Of Light**Delicatessen**Chaplin's City Lights (It's beautiful and always makes me cry)**Grand Illusion (another weepy one)
Directors: Kubrick, Fritz Lang, Tod Browning, John Houston (Asphalt Jungle for sure, Terry Gilliam (I actually wept the last time I saw 12 Monkeys)...Sci-Fi, Horror, Exploitation, Biker, Schlock, Oddball and Drug Culture films...This list could go on and on.......
If it ain't on tape or DVD I don't see it. I don't subscribe to your cable, baby. Given that.......I've recently gone through the first season of Love American Style. That was a kick. I adore all four seasons of the fucking-fantabulous Mr. Show w/Bob & Dave. A "must own" if I must say, and I do. Lesse...Freaks & Geeks was a nice 4 day marathon. MST3K is always an option. Keep circulating those tapes!! Did I forget to mention In Search Of, The Twilight Zone, The Outer Limits and Night Gallery? Add The Larry Sanders Show, The Office (UK), Arrested Development, The Simpsons, Kolchack: The Night Stalker, Little House On The Prairie (don't laugh), Python, Cosmos and great made for TV features like The Boy In The Plastic Bubble ("What would they say if we up and ran away?" P. Williams again!!). I saw it when it first aired and now I need to see it at least once a year. I'm such a softy.
I dig those by English blokes like Ben Elton, Stephen Fry, and Nick Hornby for their humor. Vladimir Nabokov and Jerzy Kosinski for the heavier reads. Charles Bukowski, just because. Kurt Vonnegut and JD Salinger for getting me to actually enjoy reading. I have also read a shitload of Perry Mason Mysteries by Erle Stanley Gardner. Yes, I like those quite a bit. John Fante too. '50s and '60s pulp porn with alott uf typoes.
BOOKS I'M CURRENTLY READING: The Rings Trilogy (J.R.R. Tolkien), Collected Works (Edgar Allan Poe), Timequake (Kurt Vonnegut) & Hit Men (Fredric Dannen).
Pete Townshend - Andy Partridge - Nick Hornby - Nina Simone - Charles Bukowski (anti-hero) - Bobby Darin - Frodo - Rod Serling - Carl Sagan - Logan Grey Robinson
