I like the tall green grass and the cool misty weather. I am happiest beneath the shade of a great green tree.
An army of Pagan bunnies who would spend their days removing the olives from my salads for me. Negro spiritualists. Petite bourgeois rakes, dandies and popinjays. Fellow mischief makers and thieving banterers. Kindly elvenfolk. Wayward navigators of inlets & tributaries. Islands unto themselves. Pale ones. A dark horse. Abbots of unreason and lords of misrule. The white tantric mahan. Devis & divas. Beautiful disasters.
I hate songs that try to instruct you in some style of dance, or give you the recipe or steps toward an emotional state that takes a lot of time, energy and trust to get to. I do like when the days of the week are used as a device, however. And then I have a phobia of songs that have the term, "making love" in them-it gives me a stomach ache just to think about. Additionally, I like songs written for dogs. Hands down, the best musical period ever is 1965-79.That said, lately I admit to enjoying assorted 80s music, with some early 90s thrown in, and even some contemporary stuff...ask me again next week. Very into this Baroque pop & Sunshine pop right now. GARAGE, GARAGE, GARAGE...and then some more 60s GARAGE. Give me a doomed love story any old day & throw some stylishness into the mix & I'm usually a weeping willow. Not to be contrary or anything, but I get bored watching TV...and I even get bored watching most movies, unless they really grab me. I don't like being a spectator in life, much. Then again, I'm pretty selective about what I'll actually participate in, too.
Self-help junkie, Classic fantasy Geek stuff (ie; Tolkien, Earthsea Trilogy, Occult-related), Cult literature (I am a pamphlet collector), The Carls (Sagan & Jung), Science, Astronomy, some classical and modern fiction, The writings of various psychologists-esp. Relational, Narrative & Jungian, Camille Paglia is fun. I like reading sometimes theory if it's not too boring and wordy. Bukowski once said that a brilliant man takes a complex idea and puts it into plain language, while a moronic cretin takes a simple idea and puts it into complex language. I can appreciate that sentiment, having gone to art school and being forced to read semiotic ramblings. Keep it simple and such. I like graphic novels and books with pictures. I love good design and large, colorful books with pictures of India and Morocco and Baltic countries. I'm also into history, and I have been reading all of these books on prostitution in the Wild West-fabulous.
