What am I doing here?

About Me

I'm a prosolar mechanic but in this life I'm something else. I talk to people for a living. Often I talk to people's parents or other relatives. I like doing it but it means that I often don't want to talk to anyone when I'm not working. And for that reason, many of my friends are wondering, "What the ???" and for that I'm sorry. It's just a thing. They say isolation is the most ironic part of the job.

My Interests

Communication with the living (or with the dead). Proving the existence of the collective unconscious. Liberating the subconscious. Sleeping. Eliminating as much bullshit as possible from my life. Being alive.

I'd like to meet:

Look, odds are I already know you. Or know of you. Or heard something about you. From someone. If not, I definitely know someone just like you. Or maybe I just know of someone who likes you. But it may or may not be me.

Music:

I like music. I have a few very young friends who force me to listen to EMO and sometimes learn to play it on my guitar. I have many old friends who are laughing about that right now. I really love a lot of older, tougher, meaner, scarier indie music, like GVSB and Failure and Come to name my all-time top three indie-nationals. Guitar matters to me, but not just any guitar rock will do. It has to be special. I also like a few newer bands like Autolux and LCD Soundsystem and Bloc Party. There's a rumor that I've collaborated with a drum and bass producer (pieter k) but that's just a rumor right now and i don't know squat about drum and bass or electronic music, but sometimes when I hear it I like it. And there's very little guitar involved there. I also love old 4-AD bands too, like Cocteau Twins, Throwing Muses, Pixies (of course). And as far as other current stuff goes, well, I'm game. But you have to fucking mean it.

Movies:

Napoleon Dynamite. The Matrix. LOTR. Serenity. Nothing too scary or too traumatic. You go ahead though. Life and my day job provide enough of that for me.

Television:

Horatio Fucking Hornblower.

Books:

Le Morte D'Arthur. The Great Gatsby. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. The Golden Compass. Return of the King. The Time Traveler's Wife. Pride and Prejudice. The Elegant Universe. Catcher in the Rye. Your Money or Your Life. Beloved. Woman on the Edge of Time. Love's Executioner. Since getting my BA in English in 1991 I'm a very lazy reader and have strange, eclectic taste in children's books, non-fiction and select popular classics.

Heroes:

hmmmm...it could be you.

Mechanic, find a way.

From here it seems the bottom has fallen out of our continent. We didn't even know that was possible. Drifting, we are weightless and carried hither and forth by a mediocre tide driven all kinds of no...

That treatise on the mechanics of attachment, once again - for the children of heartbreak.

I had to delete the old post of this because some MOTHERFUCKER hacked it, spammed it, and the lameass establishment that is MySpace offered no assistance. I was able to rescue it, and so here it is on...
