CHICONE (aka Luis G Camara)
: My interest in electronic music goes back to the early 90’s. Soon then, I realised that commercial music wasn’t going to be on my record shelves. For many years, I had always had in mind to make a move to London. My first contact with this amazing city was in the year 1998, when I spent a few months discovering its rave and clubbing scene.
: In the summer of 2001 I definitively moved with Kike Neves to a flat in Tufnell Park, North London. That was the moment MADZMUSIC was born.
During these 6+ years in London, my time has been split into music and studies. I have recently graduate from a Master degree in Digital Music Processing, which has significantly widen my
: knowledge of music technology and improved my production skills.
My musical style can be defined as bass-driven and powerful tech-house, although lately I have also been seduced by the intelligence and beauty of minimal house and techno.
:
KIKE NEVES
: Kike..s first contact with the electronic music scene took place when as a teenager; he discovered the sound of bands like The Cure, Depeche Mode, Erasure and Front 242. Through them, Kike would develop a taste for the electronic, synth-based sound of the time.
: More than 15 years have gone by but Kike’s interest for music and the dance scene is still as alive as in the early days. Moving to London in 1997 would only add up to his passion for music and would open the door to a myriad of new sounds and different styles that would reflect on Kike’s sessions.
: Kike started DJing back in 2000 and merely a year later, he would join forces with DJ Chicone to create MADZMUSIC, a project that has taken them to some of the best clubs in London and venues in countries such as Spain and the CZ Republic.
: Over these years, Kike’s music has evolved into a much darker, bass driven sound, closer to minimal techno but still with clear roots in tech-house. Kike’s sessions reveal his passion for music and a true desire to share it with other people.
:
CANDELA
: I..m the agent for MADZMUSIC and promoter for their events.
My trigger for electronic music started in the year 2000 when after bored of going to commercial, R&B and Garage clubs (really I use to fall asleep in clubs, waiting for my friends to live) drove me to try an electronic night and what else
: than Carl Cox@Fabric- my taste for music changed!
Soon after I moved to Athens (Greece) for six months in the summer where I would experience all kinds of house and electronic music parties. My interest for MADZMUSIC started in the year 2003 (London) when I met Chicone and Kike Neves.
: After listening to their sets in their living room and occasional parties I became a lover of their music and mixed style.
My knowledge of marketing, mass communication and promotion together with my passion for electronic music has driven me to work for MADZMUSIC and to organise parties.
: Together, we work as a team organising great nights in London and what I most enjoy about them is the music and the people that attend.
Our two major requirements for MADZMUSIC parties are:
1) Quality and underground music
2) A proper sound system.
