Album Reviews
"Coming from far and wide, this group of musicians have established London as their place of fortitude to create some exhilarating music for their debut album ‘New Moon’. Uplifting and invigorating tracks include ‘If U Feel’ and ‘Time for Living’ where vocalist Grace’s vocals soar and swerve majestically leaving the listener gripped. Not only her powerful vocals but also her mystical lyrics in ‘Apartheid’ and final track ‘Heal Me’ have an entrancing effect in the few more spiritual songs where she opens all new dimensions to the groups musical repertoire.Expressive musicianship is a feature which runs throughout on the album, with Dan Beaulaurier taking centre stage through driving guitar riffs. Beaulaurier works with subtleties, as alterations and intricacies are fused with at times potent guitar compositions. Alongside however, bassist Michael Howie steadies the ship almost with continuous and sturdy riffs that allow the vocals and guitar to break away. Sombre tunes such as ‘Star’ and ‘Diary’ display a beautiful composite aspect to the group’s music and soulful vocals from Grace contribute to the splendour of an album which has more than one dimension. 4.5/5"Gurtej Johal - The Music Magazine
"A glorious sonic collision between Patti Smith, Jeff Buckley and the Throwing Muses; and a band it's going to be impossible to ignore for very much longer...
With huge crashing guitar riffs, frenetic drum patterns and big glorious pop hooks; Grace Solero deal in ragged indie power pop, the sound of Patti Smith being menaced by Soundgarden down some dark alley. On their debut long player NEW MOON the band deliver dark pop thrills thick and fast over twelve songs that grab you by the throat and refuse to ever let go." - Mike Bond, ukmusicsearch.com
"Grace Solero have been described as an alternative rock outfit but I put that down to lazy journalism as there's so much to this band than that. For starters there's their sound which is much more exciting than your average rock band. The proof of that lies with the excellent 'Star' track which both lyrically and musically is a great song. It just grabs you and when you have songs like that you know there's something about the band. This was the song that I've gotten most pleasure from on this album and one I'll be playing for a long time to come too! There's many other excellent moments with tracks like 'Apartheid', 'New Place' and 'Diary' which would be criminal if you never hear those songs. That''s just how good they are! Between the four of them they play some great music that can't be catergorised so easily and that's what makes them so exciting. On top of that Grace has an excellent voice and certainly up there with the likes of Sinead O Connor, Dolores O'Riordan (The Cranberries) and Skin (Skunk Anansie). A great voice that just get's inside your head - Brilliant. Grace Solero are a band that you really do need to look out for and with their excellent tunes, lyrics and creativity you wont go wrong. 9.5/10" - Street Voice UK
