"Roz-O" crowned Promo Queen by Mix-Show DJs showcases her impact thus far in the Entertainment Industry.
Currently working for Interscope/Geffen/A&M Records in the Rap/Crossover Radio Promotions Department Roz-O is a force to reckon with…
Since the early 90’s of working at Houston's number 1 radio station 97.9 the Boxx alongside the Madd Hatta and Robert Scorpio, Roz-O has understood the real work behind a successful career. Co-hosting the afternoon drive allowed her to interview the likes of Dr. Dre, DJ Screw, UGK and Ice Cube. Working closely with the Record Label executives led to a transfer to New York University and working with the newly formed Bad Boy Entertainment assisting with Marketing and Promotions for Puff Daddy, Mase, Total, Notorious B.I.G and 112.
After completing Bad Boy boot camp in late 1997 Roz-O recruited and ran one of the Music Industry’s first and most respected female street teams working for the likes of Roc-a-Fella Records for the "Street Is Watching" Movie project. Next up was Columbia Records/Sony Entertainment; which would send Roz-O’s career on the fast track from Director of College Radio Promotions, Mix-show calls and running the female street teams Nationally. Roz-O wore many hats working the first records of 50 Cent at radio; routing and traveling on College Promotional tours with Nas, Nature, Sporty Thievz, 50 Cent and Wyclef Jean.
Soon Traci McGregor from The Source Magazine gave Roz-O a call to be a part of a special write up on influential street teams; it was the special "Mogul" issue featuring Puff Daddy, Russell Simmons, and Master P!
Next up, Warner Bros. Records in 2000 as National Director of College Radio Promotions and Lifestyle Marketing working with various new acts including R&B crooner Jaheim and Eric Benet.
Followed by Universal Motown Records in 2002 as the Rap Promotions Coordinator working Nationally with the Street teams and Regional’s. Traveling & working with artists such as: Nelly, David Banner, Mannie Fresh, Lil Wayne, Murphy Lee, Baby, Pastor Troy, Akon and Juvenile to name a few.
Over her 10 plus years in the Music Industry Roz-O’s received numerous write-ups in trade magazines such as: Hits Magazine (Nasty Nes), Urban Network (Lee Cardena), Billboard, Gavin and the Source Magazine (Tracii McGregor).
Roz-O loves creatively working with Talent during the Recording process so more A&R work is in the near future, in addition to a clothing line and launching a major Entertainment Marketing Company...Pay Attention-the Queen isn’t going anywhere!!!
