To date, DJ Envy has put out hundreds of mix tapes and in addition to being on the radio at WQHT Hot97 in New York, he blazes cities outside of the New York area through Sirius Satellite Radio with his myriad mixes. "I hit a lot of towns through Sirius that I can't reach out to through mix tapes and being on Hot97," said Envy.After churning out four volumes of mixtape mayhem from artists such as Cam'Ron, Beanie Sigel, Jay-Z, and the Lox, DJ Envy doesn't plan ..ping. Growing up in Queens, this two-time Just-O Mix Tape award recipients has 10 plus years of ripping up turntables but there's more.One of New York's leading mixtape purveyors, DJ Envy climbed up the ranks quickly and, by the early 2000s, was peddling the latest exclusives and freestyles by big-name rappers like Jay-Z, 50 Cent, and the L.O.X.He's also the President and CEO of BLOK Entertainment, a production company made up of artists, producers, and deejays which houses artist such as Newz,DJ Young Steel, & DJ Tragedy.
"I'm trying to create a way of living where people could get into the game a lot easier and know the game better so that everybody could eat themselves and feed their family," he said.DJ Envy produced vigorous tracks for artists such as DMX, Foxy Brown, Ja Rule, Fabolous, Petey Pablo, and Juvenile. He appears on Music Choice, a monthly taped interview show on cable and is also an artist-relations consultant for So So Def Records. As if that's not enough, he's also working on his second album under Blok Entertainment.
