DA SHAKEDOWN coming on KONVICT MUZIK

About Me

..
Those who have their ears to the streets, radio mix shows, and mixtapes know that Red Café is no overnight success story. ..I..ve given people a lot of music on da streets,.. says Red Café, who answers to Red, or in the case of close friends, Izzr, the name that adorns his name belts, platinum and diamond pendants and charm bracelets. With a new distribution deal for his label Shakedown thru Universal and a new mentor on the scene, Akon & Konvict Muzik, Red has finally gotten over the obstacles that held his releases back as he readies for his debut release on Shakedown/Konvict.
Red Café is known throughout the industry as one of its most successful ghostwriters. He has written for a lot of ..your favorite rappers.. including the hit Pass the Courvoisier by Busta and P Diddy. ..Now I..m writin.. my own hits... After signing to Loud Records, it folded. After that Chris Lighty of Violator Management was shopping Red Café along with 50 Cent in the hopes of securing a label deal with both artists at the forefront. It this point Red received a few offers and decided to leave Violator and sign a deal with Arista Records. The Arista deal spawned a few hits like the Trackmasters.. produced May I and Virus and the Jermaine Dupri Lil Jon collabo Showing Her Thong. Red Café tracks also landed on EA Sports Madden and NBA Live titles. Arista then folded right before Red..s release date. Red then moved on to Capitol w/ music legend Mack 10..s Hoo Bangin.. label. That spawned the hit Bling Bloaw w/ Fabolous and has led us to this point with Red Cafés debut album dropping in 2008 on Shakedown/Konvict.
People have called him Red, his whole life. It was the name his street-hustling father went by. It..s what his mother calls him to this day. The Café would come later. ..I hustled every kind of paraphernalia there is... ..I never stick to one hustle to make a dollar. I continue to move strategically to make something out of nothing. So Red Café was where you could come to get anything you want...
Being a Caribbean hotbed Flatbush Brooklyn did little to nurture a hip-hop jones. Red, who is of Guyanese descent, fell to the siren song of the streets. At about 13 years old, he was shot in the neck when he refused to be robbed of his gold ring. He was soon performing his own armed robberies before being arrested and sent off to jail. It was behind bars that his love affair with hip-hop would really flourish. ..I was in from 92-96. Some call that the renaissance of hip hop. Snoop, Mobb Deep, BIG, Jay-Z, WuTang, The Chronic, Buckshot, Nas, etc. were all goin.. hard... I knew then that being a successful rapper and businessman was what I wanted to accomplish.
Red Café is also making his way into the movie scene as an actor and producer. ..we got something real big comin.. up so stay tuned...Shout out to everybody riding with the Shakedown movement and check for that album in 2008. It will not disappoint.
