About Me

Born late 60s, in Scotland. Got into punk at an early age, although I cant say I recall the Pistols swearing on TV in '76, but do remember Elvis dying ('cos he got too bleedin fat' - PATTB!) and Sid dying. I remember a few of the punk singles that made the charts late '70s, the legendary Skids etc. Then a few of the older lads in my town started having mohicans etc and I thought that was the way ahead so got into the Exploited & GBH etc at that time and do remember dead cities on top of the pops! And its been punk & gigs ever since then! Lived in London for a bit in late 80s-early 90s and met and became mates with the GBH lads & crew and always enjoy catching up with them. Been to the last few Wasted/Rebellion fests in Amsterdam & Blackpool (was there a riot?) with the lads from Fire Exit, as their dogsbody/roadie, who always play a stormin set! Check them out if you get the chance. Cheers!

My Interests

Music, Football, motorbikes currently got a R6 & GSX600F although looking for a new home for that one at the moment (see pics). Recently spent a good bit of time with the legend that is Mr Dave Vanian discussing bikes! Good bloke & good chat & great band with Cap & the guys! Also do the occasional 10K run for charities like leukaemia & cancer.

I'd like to meet:

Met Joe Strummer backstage at the Liquid Rooms, Edinburgh shortly before his death so other than that see heroes. Anyone who stands up for their rights and principles when something is wrong eg illegal wars, inequality, poverty etc

Music:

Punk & a bit of ska

Movies:

Michael Moores stuff is worth checking out & Mark Thomas books & docs

Television:

Not punk as such but Neds Atomic Television sang 'Kill Your Television'! Says it all really. Other than football not much on really as even the news and media is spun to peddle whatever statistics or good news the politicos or authorities want to try and fool us with.

Books:

Recently read Punk Rock: An Oral History by John Robb who is a decent guy. Met him at Wasted Amsterdam and at a gig my mate Doogie of Fire Exit put on. Also recently read MacRaes Battalion about footballers & other sportsmen during the Battle of the Somme and First World War and Gary Imlachs book about his dad, My Father and other working class football heroes. A good read!

Heroes:

Anyone with the resolve and fortitude to stand up to, fight and defeat state sponsored oppression, corruption, lies and deceit.
