Oxjam is a national event being held throughout October in an effort to help Oxfam raise the much needed funds to fund their projects which have so much effect on people's lives.
The crown jewel of the Oxjam Barnsley fundraising events is the "Oxjam Weekender" being held on Friday 20th, Saturday the 21st and Sunday 22nd of October, all at The Arches. Bands playing each musical genre you can think of, except Tanzanian Flute (we tried, but he's unavilable at the moment). Each day will cost just £3 entrance fee to see some amazing live bands - all entrance fees will go to Oxjam. You just cannot afford to miss out!
There will also be an event being held by Barnsley Folk Club on Monday the 23rd - an open mic acoustic night - so once get again show your support! Thats 4 amazing musical events all over 4 days!So get involved. We want raffles, gigs, parties, bucket collections - you do it and donate it! Let us know about it and we'll get you put up on here. We'll be a big happy fundraising family. Remeber there are 31 days in October - we want at least one a day. 4 down, 27 to go. So get thinking.

Entrance on all 3 days is only £3. So for £9 you will get to see 28 live bands of all genre's and also hear some of the best music available in the DJ sets! You cannot miss out on such an offer!
Please note: In the slots that are yet to be confirmed all the relevant promoters/artists have been contacted so please don't request to play the event as we can't fit you all on - we wish we could but we can't! If there is alot of interest we may look at extending the day onto another as well - keep yours eyes peeled and get in touch if interested!
We are also looking to produce some merchandise to sell on the day to raise even more for Oxjam - badges, t-shirts, mugs - you name it, we'll try and have it! Venues - Hold gig's in October dedicated to Oxjam - £2 entry with all proceeds donated - you could even hold a raffle or two as well!
Bands - Donate your expenses/fee to the cause - sign some merchandise and raffle it off to your loyal adoring fans!
People - Hold a party - charge to get in and donate - hold an Elvis day at work and the best lookalike wins a prize - competitions, bucket collections, basically anything - just please get involved.
