Formed in early 2005, If Destroyed Still True play a mix of angular rock and melodic music. Having worked together on previous musical projects, Paul Jarvis and Dan Griffiths head up the songwriting partnership with sparks of brilliance from Matt Kendall and Paul Dymott when arranging.
A busy end of 2006 and start to 2007 saw the band play a mix of venues along the south coast. In the past these have included Portsmouth's Wedgewood Rooms, Southampton's Joiners and Brighton's Freebutt. In 2005 the band travelled to London to play at a venue in Leicester Square and have ambled their way to Islington on occasion.
The music has it's pop sensibilities which appeals to everyone, whether they decide to admit to enjoying melody and good chord progressions or not. Then there comes the darker, harder side to the band, new songs Penny Farthing, The Heist and The Getaway are filled with punk ideals yet the softer rock sounds of Electricity and Shiver are akin to an early Jimmy Eat World.
Always happy to please with a lively and accurate performance, new comers to IDST are never disappointed. The energy between the band has intensified since drummer Matt broke his arm in February 2006. He was out of action for 9 months (some said he had a baby - he gave birth!?) and now he's back better than ever and joined with enthusiasm of the reformed If Destroyed Still True there is nothing going to get in their way now.
The future involves writing and quickly laying down tracks in a live environment, capturing the essence of the band and their quality live performances.
The future releases will include videos of the recording process to visually show the energy between the members and to give the punter that little bit more.
The future does not revolve around making the fast buck, but around making quality tunes be heard by as many people for as little expense to them as possible, they want a following, not a fat wallet!
