CARLOS MARIN was born in Germany, but is orignally Spanish. His birthday is 10/13/68. He is the baritone of the group. He has one sister. He recently married his girlfriend of 12 years, Geraldine. Carlos gained a considerable reputation singing leading roles in the Spanish roles of Les Miserables, The Man from La Mancha, & Beauty and the Beast, in Madrid. He took vocal masterclasses with Alfredo Kraus, Jaime Aragall, and Monserrat Caballe. Carlos has stunned audiences all over the world in recent years and won critical acclaim as "primo baritono' in operas including La Traviata, La Boherne, Madame Butterfly, and the Barber of Seville.
SEBASTIEN IZAMBARD was born on 3/7/73 in Paris France. He is the Vox populi of the group. He is an only child. His like outside IL DIVO includes flying, through he needs to renew his licence. He is the only self taught singer of the four. He is also a songwriter and plays the piano and guitar. He has produced for many other French artists. In 2001 he performed with Johnny Haliday as a guest at the Paris Olymphia. Sebastien play one of the leading roles in Richard Cocciante's musical Le Petit Prince in 2002. When he joined IL DIVO in 2003 he was working on a solo album.
URS (TONI) BUHLER was born on 9/17/71 in Switzerland. He is one the tenors in IL DIVO. He has one brother and three sisters. Outside IL DIVO he likes to restore motorbikes and spend time in his garden. Urs began singing in public
with Conspiracy, a hard rock band based in his home town (Luzern) at age 17. He attended the Academy for School and Church music. Later, he moved to Asterdam, where he studied Voice under the teacherings of Udo Reinermann. He also had private tuition with the late Swedish tenor, Gosta Winbergh and the French tenor, Christian Papis. He sang at the Salzburgh festival one season with the choir under the direction of Claudio Abbado. He has spent the last seven years in Holland singing and performing with the Netherlands Opera.
DAVID MILLER was born in Denver, Colorado on 4/14/73. He is the other tenor in the group. He has two sisters. Outside of IL DIVO he likes to make electronic techno music and short film pieces about IL DIVO. David graduated out of Oberlin Conservatory in Ohio where he took a BA in Vocal Performance and a Masters in Opera Theatre. In the last ten years he has been based in New York and has sung over 45 operatic and music theatre leading roles. He sang in North America, Australia and Europe, and one of his leads was Tony in West Side Story in La Scala in Milan. Most recently he was on Broadway as Rodolfo in Baz Luhrman's acclaimed production of Puccini's La Boheme.
