Conceived in a small South West town in early 2006, Petrol showcase the intimate and powerful sound created by vocalist and guitarist Chris Turtell. Combining raw and infectious hooks with compelling melodies, the three piece provide a new breed of intelligent and compelling rock that needs to be heard.
Citing influences including Pixies, Girls Against Boys, Killing Joke and Shellac, Petrol merge their rugged grunge-edged songs with carefully constructed lyrics. Their place in the modern world is defined by the ethos behind the music; edgy pop songs with a stripped back sound and vocals written with a sense of urgency.
Escapism for those bored with the hollowness of today’s music scene, the band will be bringing their live shows to audiences across the UK in 2008. Feel free to be dragged along to clap your hands or just shout your fucking head off.
