About Me

Optimum Mastering, a state-of-the-art, mastering suite, is located in the heart of the dockside city of Bristol. For a city with such rich musical heritage, Optimum are a long overdue addition to the industrious music scene that has made its mark in recent years. Excellent rail and road links makes Optimum a fresh alternative to the traditional, bustling London based circuit.The facility offers comprehensive audio post-production in a professionally designed and purpose built studio. Services on offer at Optimum include CD mastering, vinyl cutting, digital editing and restoration by engineers with experience at the highest level.The room was designed by Roger D’arcy (Recording Architecture), one of the most prolific studio architects in the world, with work for Abbey Road, Lenny Kravitz and The Cure to name but a few. Roger has also designed a revolutionary ergonomic master console that is the centrepiece of this, his latest project.Monitoring is supplied by PMC, industry leaders in professional speaker technology, whilst Sadie is the choice of workstation, capable of handling hi resolution digital audio up to 192kHz. Analogue and digital outboard processing is by Prism Maselec & TC Electronics System 6000. Vinyl is cut on a lovingly restored Neumann VMS 70 lathe, with its origins in Nashville.Shawn Joseph has over seventeen years’ experience at London studios such as The Exchange, Heathmans and Masterpiece, He has completed projects for some of the most respected artists and producers in the business.
