About Me

Have you ever wondered what honey sounds like? Sarah Brindell is a soulful siren who, behind the piano, performs a melodious blend of original funk, jazz, Latin-influenced jams and soul that is a remedy for the ears...and the sweet tooth, too. Her new Dandelion EP is available on itunes Jan.15th!

"One of the most gentle and loving ASS KICKINGS IVE HEARD!"
-said world-renowned drummer Kenwood Dennard, reacting to a performance at the Paradise Lounge in Boston, MA on May 3rd, 2005.
Sarah Brindell (otherwise known as Sarah B) grew up in a purple house on a hill in San Francisco. She was raised in a family of professional musicians, composers and published writers. She began dancing at 3, playing piano at 5, and singing at 14. To this day, she is a constant performer.
NEWS: Sarah B. just got back to the states from a four month stint of piano/vocal immersion in Europe! Now she is in the midst of tracking/mixing 7 MORE songs at Chillhouse Studios in Charlestown, MA with some amazingly brilliant artists including Nate Edgar on bass, Nathan Sabanayagam on drums, Mike Keenan on guitar, Jeff Lockhart on guitar, Matt Jenson on hammond organ. Will Holland is engineering and Nathan Sabanayagam is producing. Alto saxophonist Sam Kininger even shows up for one tune, and so does Kenwood Dennard, who is featured on jaw harp. We'll let you know more details as they unfold, and when the album is out!
Sarah's music was recently featured on MTV's show MADE. On the "Mary is MADE into a Cheerleader" episode, you can hear Sarah's song "Own Skin" playing in the background! Absolutely hilarious. Here's the link: MTV's MADE

"Have you ever wondered what honey sounds like? Brindell is a soulful, sexy siren from the same beehive as Ella Fitzgerald, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder and Erykah Badu. Behind the piano, she performs a melodious blend of funk, jazz, and soul that is a remedy for the ear - and the sweet tooth, too." -Boston Weekly Dig
"...if anything is going to put us in the right groove, it's this newly minted diva of funk, pop, and jazz....Brindell's debut CD, 'Piece of Mind,' has been soothing our soul of late." -Boston Globe
"...a throw back to the days of Billie Holiday when the music was metaphor for turmoil and trouble but sounded like honey...Brindell's voice acts as salve to comfort...raw sexual energy dressed up in retro-rhythm and a honey-warm voice can't disguise the core - pure seduction." -Boston Girl Guide
"...to say her voice is flawless would be an understatement...[Piece of Mind] is full of songs that really grab the listener's full attention." -Best Female Musicians, NYC
When she looks deep into the audience and sings with that lovely voice of hers, its impossible not to be taken in. Sarahis simply mesmerizing." -Time Out Magazine, San Francisco
