Originally from Somerville, Massachusetts, John Aruda attended Berklee College of Music in Boston. There he studied with George Garzone and Jerry Bergonzi. He later studied with world reknowned music theorist Charlie Banacos.
Aruda has become one of Boston's premier saxophone players. He's toured around the US, and internationally with several groups including: the Toni Lynn Washington Band, Superhoney, the Dwight Ritcher Band, Nicole Nelson, Little Joe Cook, Weepin Willie, and The Soul Band to name just a few. He has also played with and/or shared the stage with many national recording artists including Parliament Funkadelic and Maceo Parker.
