COLVIN GEORGE SCOTT aka cocotea born september 3-19-59-in the little ffishing village of rocky point clarendon jamacica, has been singing from a very tender age,and from the time he started singing at sunday school his talent was very vsible to all and sundry,anyone who ever cross path with this son of the soil of the vere parish as where he comes from is aptly called,has been able to identify the magical charisma and charming persona of the little short man!!this father teacher humanitarian philosopher has been bless with the talent that few in the music industry has been able to even dream about, known to many as the most consistent hit maker of his generation,the easy going clarendonian has been able to capture the hearts of reggae lovers and the most ardent dancehall fans of all ages and from every part of the globe,with a voice as smooth as velvet and a melody that gets the attention of those who are the most hard to be satisfied,he has earn the reputation of been compared to some of the most treasured reggae legends of our time!!,after singing his first song[ searching in the hills][in 19-74 it took the short man ten years later to find his right full place in an industry that would soon become bread and butter although it was not an easy road but he still weathers the storm and is until today rated among the best that has ever graced the stage of reggae,discover by a man called[ willy francis] who in those days was famous for a hit song call oh what a minnie oh what a short short dress}the 5feet 5inches rasta man who after not making it big from his first recording decide to try his hand at horse riding went to caymanas park race track where he started learning the rigors of being a jockey,but after been disloged several times by a horse called sovering set and been told to remount again after bleeding from wounds that was cause by the spills he recieved, started having second thaughts about his ability to master the trade,he went home deciding to try another occupation so he started learning to ply his trade on the high seas, his time spent learning to fish was historic and event full but all in all he had a good time doing so and never regret a moment of it because he develope the art of writing a song and kept working hard at prparing himself for the chance of getting to record a song again]so he went to every dance,in those days their was a host of big sounds that came to rocky to play and he had been so much improved that the people in his distric had the most admiration for his ability, that every sound that came to rocky point to play the selector had to give him the mike and he never disappointed his many fans because every time he got the chance to sing he would mash up the place, because he was getting to know the pro"s and con"s,then came the moment that would change his life forever in 19-83-their came a sound call volcano high power own by the famous prodecer called henry junjo laws and he said to his friends here"s my chance to buss because anytime vulcano comes i will sing on the sound and hope junjo will hear me sing,but when the sound came to rocky point he almost never got the chance because they never wanted to give him the mike but after his fans started getting on bad saying no cocotea no dance they had was to give him the mike and so the started singing and even those on the sound that never wanted to give him the mike started shouting pull upppp now u must understand that at that time their was big singers and big dj"s like little john louie lepky lee van cliff papa toyan yellow man josie wales burro banton shadow man and many more hot superstars on the sound so for a little country boy to mash up the dance u had to be very special!! and so after he mash up the dance they told him to come to kingston next month because it was december and all studio works had stop for the rest of the year,well he never went to kingston until feburary and when he went to town thats when he met junjo,so junjo said to him sing mek mi hear and he started singing and josie whales who was listening say dont sing anymore because any man sing and mek mi dance without rythym must buss,and so junjo say come tommorow qnd come voice,and from that day it started,the first song was who a di champion then came rocking dolly and then chrismas is comming and then i lost my sonia witch was his first real big hit at that time,then came his first album call weh dem a go do cant stop cocotea with songs like im wanted chalis a no something fi u romp with and evening time to name a few!!and from that cocotea never look back,but most of the other hits were not for junjo because he migrated to the usa,and he started voicing for corner stone doing lp"s like mr cocotea settle down and then came king jammys with come again,featuring songs like tune inn and come again 18 and over nah look no work and gambling for her love and the marshall the second for jammys. and then came the era of home t cocotea and shabba ranks and gussie clark with songs like pirates anthem, they want us to turn it off of course the first ever #1 for shabba ranks called who she love then came the era of phillip fatis burrelle"s xterminator lable wih cd"s like, one up, isreals king, good life ,one way,feel the power, and then last year, save us oh jah,and of course how could i forget mr doo"s rikers island, and then bobby digital"s love me,then in 19-95 cocotea embark on an even greater avenue he started his roaringlion recording studio and then came the first roaringlion cd call unforgetable witch was a tribute to the late grate dennis emanuel brown,and then tek weh u gal witch was a very strong dancehall hit,the little short man just dont know how to stop like the old man river he just keep rolling and after last year hit cd save us oh jah, he is back with more this year with poverty the hit single from his brand new cd call biological warfare on the minor7 flat 5 lable witch is due in stores on june 20"th and as if he just dont know how to stop making hit songs here comes star time witch is call the girls dem saga women just go crazy for this one and waiting in the wings is saturday night at the world clash,witch is the sound man dem anthem every sound man have to get this one and also a song witch is only avaible accapella for the sounds them its call they will die a must buy for all sounds who love to kill sounds on the planet,so to summ it up i will say this when dem think him done the short man just getting ready fi kick up a storm in other words him ready fi make some noise in the dancehall just like his stage show that is taking the world by storm the show held every new year"s eve call original dancehall jam jam witch is worth going several hundred miles to see if u think its a lie ask all the prople who have been fortunate to come to jamaica for the stage show!!trust mi its very evry hottttttt stay tune for more from the little short man from clarendon jah mek yah,and check out all the new things he has in store one thing is certain with the help of rastafari the man intend' to keek on pleasing all his fans especially all the sweet ladies because like the great gong says music gonna teach dem one lesson stay tune for nuff nuff more, jah blessings!!!!!!
