BB Wiggs - "Live, Love, and play LOUD!"

About Me

On Tracy Lane, the brainchild of singer/songwriter Darryn Yates, is a modern twist on classic 80s pop rock. Schooled in the vocal stylings of Dave Pirner and Tom Petty with a splash of Roxette, OTL captures the spirit of bands like The Cars while revising their retro sound with driving guitars and lush vocal arrangements. On Tracy Lane has opened for acts such as American Hi-Fi, Local H, Avril Lavigne, Butch Walker and shot a music video in Los Angeles last year for their song Back To Maybe, featuring Lacey Chabert (Mean Girls, Party of Five). The OTL live band features Yates on vocals/acoustic guitar and Shannon Nicole on backing vocals and piano. On Tracy Lane's fans, 75,000 on their mailing list from the U.S. and abroad, have gobbled up 20,000 copies of the OTL EP. The CD is in the top 10 most albums sold at the Vintage Vinyl Record Store in their hometown area. The CD features the single Better Again, which can be heard at a rising number of radio stations across the country. Other songs on the EP are fan favorites House of Mimes and Walk In Like DeNiro. The OTL EP was produced by Shock City Music, including producers Doug Firley (of Gravity Kills fame) and indie-rock veteran Chris Loesch. On Tracy Lane is quickly catching the eyes and ears of the music industry as they search for the right management company and recording label to sign with. In B.B.'s words: "I contacted Darryn via a local website, and we met a a local donut shop down the street from J. Gravity Strings (Official Plug--lol). Over coffee and apple fritters we discussed our musical backgrounds, what we like to play, and where we'd like to ultimately go with our music. We hit it off from the start, and at the first rehearsal it seemed like we'd played together for years! It's been great ever since...!"

Band Members: On Tracy Lane is: Darryn, Lead Vocals and Guitar; Jerry McFarland, Bass Guitar, Keyboards, Taurus Pedals; B.B. Wiggs, Lead/Rhythm Guitars, Backup Vocals, and Paul Russo, Drums and Percussion.
Influences: Oh man, you name it! It all started with KISS, Rush and REO Speedwagon for me. Add some Boston, Kansas, Foreigner, Queen, Journey, Led Zepplin, Hendrix, Bad Company, Bon Jovi, The Romantics, The Cure, The Knack, The Cars, Nickleback, Foo-Fighters, Blink 182, Ozzy, Eric Johnson, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Buddy Guy, Queens of the Stone Age, Linkin Park, Evanessance, and about a thousand other bands that just aren't coming to mind right now!I'm a big fan of bands that feature a "lead guitarist." In the 90's that kind of went away, and now it's back. Big songs with big moments with a singing, stinging guitar that just sizzles your ears and makes you remember why rock is sooooooooo cool.ROCK - AND - ROLL!
Sounds Like: The great rock music of the 80's, with a modern twist and more overdriven guitars. Darryn's not only a great song writer, but he's got a great voice--very clear and ear-catching, but when required he can grind it out with the best of them. Jerry's bass playing is very reminiscent of his idol (Geddy Lee), and he's got to be the best 21 year-old bass player I've ever heard. Paul's drumming is awesome; he's got a metronome in his head, and has a great feel for time. My guitar playing is very blues-based; I like to think my playing is a mix of Gary Moore, Gary Richrath, and Jimmy Page. All together we make a great team!
