Owing just as much to the stripped-down blues of Son House, Bukka White, Muddy Waters, & Elmore James as it does to the electrified boogie of Pat Travers, Johnny Winter, AC/DC. & ZZ Top, Southern Electric combines these influences with a passion for creating new music. Playing both originals and select covers makes for a blistering set of Blues Blasted Rock'n'Roll,

The Short Story
Billy began writing songs for what would become Southern Electric shortly after he had added some slide tracks, via the modern miracle of digital production, to songs Jim was writing with singer/friend Wade Williams in Hollywood.
Knowing Eric's voice from an AC/DC tribute project they were doing together, Billy asked Eric to come sing some demos recorded in his house. (Some of these are the acoustic tracks on the music page)
Billy and Eric knew Mike from Full Nelson (who rock by the way) which also shares a bandmate with the tribute band. After hearing the demo Mike agreed to do the project and the hunt was on for a bass player.
Billy asked, but Jim was not able to do the project so the multi-talented Eric Conner played the bass tracks in the studio. Fast forward a year and 3 bass players. Billy again approached Jim about the project. Jim and Billy had played together in PeaceMonkey, a regional original rock band, so the learning curve was practically non-existent.
Current line-up in place, Southern Electric began rehearsing and writing new tunes and is now playing live shows regionally.
