Born and raised in Kyoto, KATSU is a core member of the dance group“ ICHIGEKI ”“The Pride of Japan”.
In the year 2002 the group participated in and won the Japanese round of the “ Battle of The Year ” world break-dance competition, and went on to represent Japan in the championship round in Germany.
Three years later in 2005, the group showed their strength and consistency as they became the first group to represent Japan more than once in the world championships in Germany once again at “Battle of The Year 2005”. In that competition the group came in second place, and in addition won the award for “Best Show”.
In 2006, the following year, members KATSU and SHIN performed with RHYMESTER in a showcase performance to kick off “Battle of The Year 2006”.

As you can imagine, the group has won countless dance battles and competitions. In 2004 the 『ICHIGEKI』DVD was released. It completely sold out with lightning speed.
Using break-dancing as a base, KATSU currently performs everywhere from the street to the stage as a “body artist” working with other dancers from various genres and fields of study ranging from ballet to contemporary and more.

Back in 1998 he took the name “D.J. KATSU” , and with the motto “good music is good music” he began spinning records at clubs and dance battles, without regard for genre, or preconceived notions about walls or borders in the world of music.
With a fascination and attraction not only to the playing and listening of music, but to its creation as well, he began creating music in his own home studio.
In addition to his work with『ICHIGEKI』he continues to make special remixes for various dance crews and shows as well as his own original music (due to his reputation as a remix artist, if you would like one made you will have to get in line because there is a waiting list).
His mix tape series, vol.1-vol.7 has set sales records at various shops in America Mura in Osaka, with sales topping more than 2000 copies.
Now, not just a break-dancer, but also as a sound creator he continues to rock the Japanese street dance scene.
In 2006, pulling from his abundance of experience, and vision as a dancer, he came up with the musical concept 『New Generation Dance Tracks』 .
Going by the moniker 『1.G.K』 , he uses elements of various types of music to create his own original dance music style, while also bringing a strong message to the world!
With a rebel like fury he continues to challenge both himself and the worlds of dance and music. From Kyoto, the ancient capital Japan, he is the multi-talented SAMURAI Artist!

日本が世界に誇る 『一撃』 の主要メンバー。
現在ダンス歴12年。京都生まれの京都育ち。
ブレイクダンスの世界大会である "BATTLE OF THE YEAR " の日本予選2002年度大会 、"JAPAN 2002"にて 優勝、その年の世界大会[ドイツ]に日本代表㠁¨ã—て出場。
その3年後の BATTLE OF THE YEAR 2005å¹´å¤§ä¼šã§ã¯ä¸¦ã¿ã„ã‚‹å¼·è±ªã‚’æ‰“ã¡ç ´ã‚Šã€æ—¥æœ ¬å²ä¸Šåˆã¨ãªã‚‹äºŒåº¦ç›®ã®æ—¥æœ¬ä»£è¡¨ã®åº§ã‚’å‹ã¡å –り、世界大会[ドイツ]に出場。
そして準優勝＆ベストショウを受賞し、 『世界２位』 と偉業を成し遂げる。
その後、KATSU&SINの2人で"BATTLE OF THE YEAR "2006年度の大会オープニングSHOWケースにて 『ライムスター』 と共演 。
BATTLE OF THE YEAR世界大会各国の代表チームを追ったアメムªã‚«ãƒ‰ã‚­ãƒ¥ãƒ¡ãƒ³ã‚¿ãƒªãƒ¼æ˜ ç”» 『PLANET B-BOY』 に日本代表として主演出演。

他、数々のダンスバトル、コンテスト受賞。 2004には『一撃』DVDをリリース。 大盛況の中、短期間で全て完売。
現在はブレイクダンスを原点にジャンルレス な BODY ARTIST として活動し、バレエダンサーやコンテンポ ラリーダンサーなど様々なジャンルのアーテ ィストとのユニットやコラボレーションを果 たし、舞台公演などストリートシーン以外で の活動も精力的に行っている。

また DJ KATSU としての歴史は古く１９９８にスタート。ジ ャンルと言う枠に関係 なく 『良いものは良い』 を自分の提示として掲げたクラブDJãƒ—ãƒ¬ã‚¤ã®ä »–、ダンス バトルのDJとしても幅広く活動し、多方面か㠂‰æ•°ã€…の定評を得ている。
そういった音楽活動と時同じくして、音楽制 作の魅力にも早くから開眼し独自の自宅スタ ジオ構える。『一撃』はもちろん、他の数々 のダンスCREWなどのSHOW TIME音源のRemixを手掛けたり、自身の音楽を提 供し続けている。
そのRemix力には以前からかなり定評があり、K ATSUに依頼するダンスCREWが殺到し、順番待ち㠁Œèµ·ã“る程の人気ぶりを得続けている。
なお自身が過去に作り上げたMIX TAPEシリーズ VOL1～7は大阪アメリカ村SHOPにて約2000本セーム«ã‚¹ã‚’記録。ブレイクダンサーのみならず、゠µã‚¦ãƒ³ãƒ‰ã‚¯ãƒªã‚¨ãƒ¼ã‚¿ãƒ¼ã¨ã—て日本のストリームˆãƒ€ãƒ³ã‚¹ã‚·ãƒ¼ãƒ³ã‚’ä¸­å¿ƒã«çµ¶å¤§ãªã‚‹å½±éŸ¿ã‚’ä¸Žãˆç¶ šã‘ている。
