Barbie is best known as THE FEMALE CENOBITE in the classic cult horror movie 'HELLBOUND: HELLRAISER II' by Clive Barker. She has performed in cabaret in Bangkok; appeared in the Bollywood blockbuster, 'JANBAZZ' (being the first classically trained robotic mime artist to perform in a Bollywood movie) and was a vicious mugger in 'DEATH WISH III'. Barbie also robotically mimed with British TV legends Morecambe & Wise and the famous TV hand puppet 'Sooty'.
In the early 1980's, Barbie danced professionally at the top nightclubs of New York City, London, and Amsterdam with the mime/dance/music group, SHOCK, which spawned the duo, Tik and Tok. SHOCK supported such artists as Gary Numan, Ultravox and Adam & the Ants and released two singles on RCA Records: 'Angel Face' and 'Dynamo Beat'.
While working as a television presenter, Barbie wrote the scripts for all of the programs that she appeared in, which include: 'The American Hot 100' (Skytrax TV); 'The Morning Show' and 'Supersonic' (Music Box TV); 'The Small Screen', a film review program for London Weekend Television; 'Hold Tight' a music show for Granada Television as well as a live music program, 'The Gig', for London Weekend Television. Barbie also presented the movie history program, 'Sprockets' which is still sporadically shown on various free-to-view channels (such as The Horror Movie Channel) on Sky Television UK.
Over the years, Barbie has interviewed such pop personalties as Cliff Richard, Iggy Pop, The Sisters of Mercy, Pepsi & Shirley, Roger Taylor of Queen, John Lydon (the Sex Pistol's Johnny Rotten), The B52's, Lisa Stansfield and Black as well as actors Nicholas Cage and Hugh Grant.
Barbie has also worked as a film critic for the prestigious Film Review Annual; as an assistant casting director for the BBC production of 'The Buddha of Suburbia'; and as a casting director for numerous commercials for British television as well as for MTV's London production of 'The Real World'.
As a song writer, Barbie has worked with Tim Dry (Tik from Tik and Tok) and Richard James Burgess & John Walters (Landscape).
Barbie is currently editing her first crime novel, 'the Venus complex', due for publication soon.
