In 1974 Georg Kajanus formed the band SAILOR that released three
successfull albums until their separation in 1976 and that belonged to
the most famous pop-acts of this genre especially in Germany. After the
split Georg Kajanus left the pop-scene for a while in order to think about
new musical ways of expression. During the following time the expressive
singer and guitarist started to work on modern and electronic music and
finally formed a band DATA together with the female singer Frankie Boulter.
In late 1979 the first album "Opera Electronica" was released which was
well-accepted by the critics. In 1981 DATA went on tour as the opening of
"Kid Creole And The Coconuts", and later they recorded their second
album "2-Time".
The electronic sound of DATA does not sound "cold". The music is
stressed by the rhythm, it combines - like in "A-O (No Bungalow"
on the B-side of the single - african elements and is then followed
by the great song which makes the listeners sing: "Living Inside Me",
the A-side of the 7" and 12" single, both titles of the topical LP "2-Time".
