ACT I. Straight outta Queens, NY, dj COOL CH is a veteran on da 1 & 2s! Born in the birthplace of HipHop, the BRONX, CH has been living and breathing the culture he embraces with his very soul since its beginning! In the shadows of YANKEE STADIUM, the streets were giving him a musical background that would later flourish in the public ear. The Boogie Down was burnin' with crime & chaos, but CH was able to see/hear the great sound systems of AFRIKA BAMBAATA & GRAND MASTER FLASH at housing projects and open parks- it was then a 9 year old B-BOY was born! With da 80s around the corner- his family moved to the Q-BORO. ACT II. CH remembers vividly: "I used to get in trouble for sneaking into the 'city' to buy records at Music Factory in Times Square! I'm coming home with Jimmy Spicer, Kurtis Blow, Sugar Hill Gang, my moms is patrolling the 'hood in a squad car cryin'! I caught a bad one that night!" It became a routine to cop records ever since..."Although I get service from the major labels, I still love hunting down that hot record that could break a party wide open!" In 1985 his GRAFFITI partners pushed him to the next level of Hiphop: DJing! " I remember my boy coming to my crib & caught me scratchin' up 2 copies of 'LODI-DA-DI' on 2 different stereos- NO MIXER! I was goin' back & forth flippin' volumes tryin' to be like FLASH; he was like homeboy you need some Technics & a mixer." Da rest is HIStory as they say. Armed with TEKS, a GEMINI & a JVC, CH, KLOD & RON MILLZ became- MEN OF MUSIK! Instantly the Dj crew became Queens' youngest turntable clan with their mixtapes & house parties becoming street history!
ACT III. The early 90s saw CH venture into production & forming a rap group called "THE CUTTHROATS". They dropped a song on the "MENACE II SOCEITY" soundtrack, broke up & went their seperate ways. It was then that CH developed a close relationship with GURU of GANGSTARR who was CT's management along with dj PREMIER. "I've learned alot about the industry from Guru- he's been through it all- from obscurity to international fame. I'm well grounded and know that at anytime the rug can be pulled right from underneath my feet." As a NYC club veteran, CH spoke to the city's exclusive promoters and began spinnin' at all the hotspots! From THE TUNNEL to LIFE to CARBON/EXIT to CLUB CHEETAH to CHINA CLUB to FLOW NYC- you name it- he was there. The end of the decade saw him team up with his boys @ KME Records and put out some of Corona's hottest street shit ever! He also found time to graduate from SAE-NY with an Audio Engineering degree. ACT IV. In 2003, CH moved down to S.Florida where he had been djing events down in SOUTH BEACH since da mid-90s. Injecting that Queens flavor into the beaches, CH is here to resurrect that REAL Hiphop behind enemy lines. " The industry is fucking everything up! Radio, TV its all bullshit. That IZ not HIPHOP! Mutherfuckers is walking around saying they down with hiphop- back in the day you had to run thru an Apache line to be down!" Widely known as that dj with the REAL shit, CH has resided at some of S.FL's hottest niteclubs! RELEASE, FLOW WPB, RESORT, DELUX, RADIUS/CLUB BOCA, Pangea@The Hard Rock Hollywood, ZNOs in SOBE and many more! Always into something, CH loves to do car shows! " I definitely got the need for speed! Dope rides and fine chicks- what a RUSH!" ACT V. 2006 has seen CH spread out his resume to work with Non-for-Profit organizations and numerous foundations. Always willing to give back to the community, CH continues to stay active in a positive direction. ACT VI. 2007 started well for CH as he begun the process of preparing to launch his independent record label: IBA Music Group. He promises to drop great music that people all over the world can relate to. The forming of his dj crew: I.B.A. djz has also begun to gain a positive direction. He also teamed up with fellow Hip Hop dj: Stevie D. to form: "THE SHOW". Together they started putting out a mixtape series with the exact name. ACT VII 2008 promises to be a busy one as well for CH. An upcoming tour with rapper Nut-Rageous in Europe is planned for the summer. CH signed budding rap act: WRITERZ BLOCK to his IBA Music Stable. The young gunnaz, only 20 yrs. old each, promise to put "The Real" in SFLA Hip Hop! Lyrically dangerous, the future is bright! Aong with WB, CH also started his Hip Hop Show called: 360- ENTA DA CYPHA. Consisting of talented MCs vieing for battle fame, with a champion each show! Guest Djs also make this a true Hip Hop event!
