MissMalaprop.com is indie driven and community-minded. I believe in supporting small business, independent designers & artists, and people & organizations who are working to make the world a better place. I believe, whenever possible, in buying local, independently produced, handmade, sustainable, recycled, organic, fair-trade, environmentally-friendly products and services. I believe that one person can make a difference and that everyone can be that person.

MissMalaprop.com is a proud member of the New Orleans Craft Mafia .
Every couple of months at MissMalaprop.com I’ll be setting up a new fundraiser page via Firstgiving to raise money for worthwhile charities. The first charity fundraiser ran during January and February and raised $225 for Big Brothers-Big Sisters of Southeast Louisiana.
In conjunction with Earth Day, I've picked The Green Project & Recycle for the Arts for the current fundraiser.
In order to help encourage donations (no amount is too small!), I’ve rounded up some great donated handmade goods, including many recycled items, to be given away to one of the participants who donate to this fundraiser. The winner will be chosen at random.
The prize pack includes recycled bottlecap magnets and an altered art tag from BornLippy , pressed flower resin pendant from greenKangaroo , blank greeting cards featuring artwork by Sharon Foster Art , a recycled beach glass necklace from Valerie Tyler Designs , a key necklace featuring vintage components from dejarnette , and a recycled acid wash denim handbag and pin made from recycled FEMA blue tarp, made by me, dismantled designs . The total retail value is over $150!
To learn more about this fundraiser or to donate money, check out the fundraiser page at Firstgiving . Please help spread the word and feel free to contact me with suggestions for future charities!
I also design reconstructed/recycled clothing & accessories: dismantled designs
