About Me

Try the BEST MySpace Editor and MySpace Backgrounds at MySpace Toolbox !Ok a little about myself.. I'm a NZ singer/songwriter currently living in London, my latest stop on this trainride my music career is taking me. I've been here since Aug 06 and so far it's been a bit of a rollercoaster ride with it's debatable fair share of up's and downs. I began playing the guitar when I was 18 and started singing about two years ago. Guitar is my main instrument, but I also play drums, keys, bass, and I sing. Some might say I was a late-bloomer, but I developed quickly:-) I guess you could say music runs in the family though... My father is a drummer, many of my aunties and uncles are talented musicians, and my uncle was manager/producer of 80's new-wave English rockers, The Cure.As a kid I moved around a lot so I don't really have a hometown. It could either be A, B,C, D or E, all of the above. But I like to call Dunedin home.. It's where I spent four years at university studying music and had some of the best times of my life. University really changed the way I think and my perception on life. While a degree in music hasn't really given much in terms of a regular income, or a 'career' as such, the experience was invaluable. Nurturing and developing my craft, I blossomed as a songwriter/performer.I like to write songs about the things I know the most about.... me and my world. About the things that I've been through, seen, and done. About the things that are happening. Funnily enough, a lot of people seem to empathise with my music and it's themes. It's amazing how many people tell me they can relate to the things I write about. I'm extremely passionate about music and writing songs.. It's my way of helping and talking to people.. I can tell them that it's normal to be crazy. That everyone is messed up. That they're not the only ones who carry shadows on their shoulders, and sand in their shoes. At the moment, I'm currently in the process of recording my first album (early-mid 07), while relentlessly performing in and around London. One day soon I hope, I'll play in your town.
