I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

Hmm Well I'm a bit of a multi-faceted post-modern poser. I like to sing to my hearts content-have a couple of bands and collaborating with a few others. Mostly jazz and trip hop but I've been western classically trained and can reel off a few Indian classics while I'm at it. Currently though my focus is my sitar and I am a part of the London Sitar Ensemble (the world's only such one) and we have recently performed the Royal Festival Hall in London.. Always open to jam and explore new facets so drop me a line! Besides that, I'm also working on a couple of documentaries: without going into details, one is about China whilst travelling out there, I picked up on some rather interesting themes (mwahaha). To feed my intellect and my wallet with some consistency, I'm currently researching for a PhD in relation to Neuroscience and musical creativity. So my fundamental essences being firmly ensconced in Science, my head wanders off into the lofty clouds of the Arts. So now you understand my first sentence.I come from Bangladesh originally and am a director of a social entrepreneurship called Dormasphere. With our help artisans from Bangladesh can continue to support themselves with their traditional culture and craft handed down for centuries; they wont be forced to work in unsafe factories using unnatural and synthetic materials. So we sell their handmade artefacts in London-straight to students for their halls of residences! Its cheap, fair, handmade, natural, environmentally-friendly and funky West-meets-East design (no piece is the same as its all handmade). And whats more, everything gets delivered straight to your doorstep-so watch out Ikea! Please feel free to contact me if you're interested:)visit www.dormasphere.com its still in its baby stages mind!
